2023 04.03-4 Dream - Two Contrasting Scenes

In one scene from my first dream, a male independence activist fighting against an imperialist power (perhaps Japan) appears. Somehow he flees to the Philiphines with his family. He starts a contracting business with a small capital, but ends up poor after ruining it. He suddenly dies and his family lives in poverty as a result. The family decides to send the brightest (and the oldest) kid to an advanced country in a hope that he will someday become financially successful to feed his family. The kid, however, came down with the flu, and dies soonafter in a foreign country. The whole family became completely devastated and all of them starved to death.

The protagonist of my second dream, in conrast, is an incredibly shrewd with his finances but morally corrupt. He also attempted to scam a female in an online cryptocurrency platform. Despite lack of morality, he managed to become successful in a society. 

I believe these two constrasting dreams reveal my deep-held belief that financial or social success does not have anything to do with morality and altruism. It rather has to do with one's capability or skill to accumulate wealth.
