Maybe he didnt know how stupid this law is. You forget to get the stickers for your tags and they impound your car is wrong! I could see getting a ticket but its extreme to impound your vehicle!

Imagine IF politicians like this guy could develop some EMPATHY about what regular people deal with EVERYDAY. But it's ONLY when it happens to THEM, that they stand up and see that changes are made to make people lives better.

Hahaha maybe that specific officer, but I’m sure there have been a many politicians who have said it before! Haha, this time it was at least done with class, dignity, and resulted in a change in the system that improves the lives of his delegates. :)

Sure cops can’t change the law but they at the end of the day have the most impact and descretion should of let the dude go and get his tags and change the law but nah somebody has to pay the union.

But it doesn’t make the cop look bad, it makes the Senator look bad . The cop was enforcing a law allowed by the Senator. The Senator was basically arguing against himself.

 @optimisticcosmic  I don't think that either of them looked stupid. Both did their job, both kept their oath, and the law which was "stupid"" got changed.
So who do you suppose wrote this law, probably some fifty or sixty years ago? Looks like both the Officer, and Senator did their job with integrity and honor.
Jeeze…in my department we just wrote them their ticket and let them go.
 @optimisticcosmic The senator didn’t put that law in place and was NOT arguing against himself. That law was in place long before he became a senator.

absolutely based. I love seeing this. politicians realizing that they aren't above the law and when the law is dumb to begin with they change the law FOR EVERYONE. justice was done that day.

 @SJHFoto  I did intentionally wrote "absolutely based". this is because "based" is a significant sign of approval of something that is pleasing to you. "cringe" is something that appeals in a bitter-like manner to you and "based" is the opposite. hopefully this is clear to you now. language barriers are sometimes difficult to get through

This is the correct way to flex your power. He didn't use his position to get out of the tow or the fine. He used to to ensure it never happens to anyone else. Mad repsect.

Yet, he only did so AFTER it was HIMSELF who was affected. He's been a Senator for at least a year now, so that's not really as good a thing as you make it.

 @domesticdragonwaffle  It sounded like he didn't even know that's what the law was. And once he found out what the law actually was, he was like, "That ain't right," and then did something about it. like mfing BOSS.

Yeah after he threatened to call the mayor. Only after he realized he couldn't weasel his way out of it just because he "pays bills" did he decide he was REALLY pissed and said he'd change the law. Not really a boss. Just pissed he couldn't get out of it. @ytmndan
